It took me 2.5 years to finally get accepted into PT school. My first year applying, I applied to 9 schools around the tri-state area (I lived in NJ). I was rejected from every single school. I retook a couple courses and tried again in 2014. This time, however, I applied to about 17 schools around the country, including Florida, Kentucky, and Oregon and I was eventually accepted by the school I attend now, waitlisted at two, rejected from the rest.
It was a long journey to get accepted to USAHS. This was actually my first choice because of it accelerated program and focus on manual therapy. After my interview, I was on the waitlist for a good part of 2015 before being staged for acceptance at their new program in Miami. USAHS’s main campus is in St. Augustine, Florida, however, they have two other accredited satellite campuses in Texas and California. Their newest campus in Miami was set to open initially in the Fall of 2015 pending they were approved and accredited. They were not approved until the following year and I was worried that I would have repeat the whole application process again for another year. But in January of 2016, I got the best news ever: I had been accepted to their program in Texas. And thus began the journey towards success and service as a DPT.
In December 2018, I graduated with my DPT and now I am studying for my board exam.
